Murder Rob for Cult Status
Prolefeed – defined by George Orwell in the definitive novel ‘Nineteen Eighty-Four‘ as ‘the steady stream of mindless entertainment to distract and occupy the masses’. We’ve all been victims of that at some point or another, but I can assure you that this Prolefeed are not a subscription to that statement. Based in north-east UK featuring members of Winds of Genocide and Sawn Off among others, their debut EP ‘Murder Rob for Cult Status’ is a whirlwind anarchic sprint through five tracks of chaotic hardcore/crust punk a la Crass, The Horror, Vitamin X, etc. It’s all over and done with in under five minutes, and in no way does it ever feel subdued. No sir, this is a loud and angry hello from Prolefeed, who’ll making themselves heard more in future; the band have a split coming up with Preston grinders The Day Man Lost and have live appearances in the offing. This is a tasty morsel to consider until then. Available as a name-your-price download, be sure to check them out below and send some attention their way. I guarantee its not another mindless distraction.
